New Timetables from February 15th

The new timetables will be effective from February 15th - thanks for all your suggestions. We are delighted to now run the Southern Cross / Dart service earlier so that it meets the 7.04 Dart and to run the Southern Cross / Luas timetables to get passengers into Sandyford with a couple of minutes to spare to get to work at 8am and 9am. We have moved some timings to get better reliability so check out our new timetable for all the details.

Weekly tickets
It seems to be increasingly difficult to get weekly tickets. Is there a problem issuing them or is there not enough demand for them? I'd like to have them every week, since having the exact amount all the time is not easy. Also, it saves a bit of money. Nowadays I have to wait for two weeks or sometimes even three weeks to get one. If you can't issue them anymore or if there are other reasons, please let us know.

New Timetables
Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback Rachel - we have onboard tracking so will actively monitor this. The timings in the morning were revised to give about 15 minutes walking time from bus stop to work (as the feedback we got was that the 8am was too late to allow for time to get to work for 9am starts and 7.30 was too early and so we created the 7.45). Similarly, the return at 18:00 is to allow time for people finishing after 17.30 to walk to the stop. Our aim is to run a convenient and reliable service and so we are considering all the feedback we are getting.

new timetables
I have to say that im using Finnegan every day, but now with new timetables im always late for work. Cause what happens is - the bus that leaves Bray at 7.45 should be in Sandyford a 8.30.. but it never is, because trafic is pretty bad this time.. So if I start at 8.30 Im always late. This morning bus was in Sandyford at 8.45...
Also have to agree with Robert that 18.00 is too late... There are always people in bus stop already at 17.35, so why coudnt bus leave at 17.45.. those 15minutes makes a huge difference...

New Timetables
Thanks Robert and David for taking the time for giving us feedback - we will keep your comments in mind for future updates. Our revised timetables was primarily based on passenger numbers (which the drivers logged over a number of weeks, so included all passengers including passes, tickets and 10 journey tickets) and timing suggestions we received. Thanks again.

Timetable change
I'm so sorry to be writing so late after the change. I am or should I say was a regular user of your 1.15pm from the luas to bray. it was always a well sold journey but as it goes for ticket sales the main travelers were health board pass holders. It is a shame that i will not be using your service anymore and as it goes for those pass holders you get subsidized to carry them.

Luas to Bray
Hello

Im kicking my self that i missed your consultation process prior to publishing the new timetable. Myself and a few colleagues finish work in Sandyford at 1730 - but have to wait around 30 minutes for the next bus outta town :)
Would it not make sense to have a bus just after everyones finishing time? We all end up walking as far as the N11 to get the 145 rather than wait in the office an extra 30 mins. Yours Hopefully - Robert

16H45 from Sandyford
Hello, I too am ( was) a user of the 16H45 bus from Sandyford ( a very good service) -unfortunately the 17H15 is too late for my connection to Greystones -so sorry to say, you have lost a customer as I have to make alternative arrangements. Please re-instate the 16H45 !

New Timetables
Thanks for answering my comment. It seems to me that some bus links to Sandyford were diverted to the Southern Cross-Dart link in Bray. In doing so, the Sandyford 'workforce' were 'neglected'. If we miss the bus in the morning or if it doesn't come at all, there won't be another one coming within the next 50 minutes. So, we will be at the office much too late. Furthermore, with the 16.45 bus, a lot of people were able to avoid the traffic jam in Sandyford and Bray. Instead of 30 minutes it now takes about 45 minutes to get home. And it makes a big difference to be at home at 17.15 instead of 18.00. Also, how can you say that you base the reduction of service on ticket sales? A lot of travelers buy weekly tickets and like me use them at different times. If I can leave earlier and get the 14.45 bus I’ll use that ticket as well as for the later buses. And I don’t believe that there are more people using the 14.45 and 18.45 buses than the 16.45 bus. As for the survey, I don’t think that anyone using the 16.45 bus would ask to get rid of it and get ferried off in a minibus, stuck in the traffic, to arrive home much later. There seems to be the mentality of the animal transport companies. Stuff them all in one transport, get it full to the ceiling and save money. Here we have a similar situation. The amount of people that used to use two buses, are now stuffed in one bus, and in a minibus, which makes it even less enjoyable. If you are a bit claustrophobic as I am, this causes a fair amount of stress. Being hauled for a fairly long time in a bus that barely manages the weight at all, with people almost sitting on your lap, coughing and sneezing all around you, may also cause some concern regarding health issues.

Please reconsider and reintroduce at least the 16.45 bus. I am not the only one using this bus and many people will appreciate it.
Thanks for your attention. Gisela

New Timetables
Hi Gisela - sorry the new timetable doesn't suit you as well as the old one : we moved timings based on the feedback we got and based on ticket sales. Please send us an email with your "ideal" timings so that we can keep this in mind for future updates. Thanks.

Southern Cross to Sandyford
Sorry, but this timetable has changed to the worse. Now I have to get either earlier to the office or much later, and from Luas to Bray, there is now only the option 17.15 instead of 16.45. Less busses on offer as well. Not a good move. Disapointed traveller.
